As an active member of the Association of Serviced Apartments (ASAP) for a number of years now and having seen the tremendous work they have done in bringing both recognition and validation to our sector, Staycity Aparthotels were delighted to further support ASAP by becoming an association premium sponsor. It’s been very beneficial to have such a key body representing the views and needs of both ourselves and our fellow members as well as being able to actively participate in all the wide ranging initiatives ASAP offer in order to help bring further awareness and recognition to our industry. One of these key initiatives has been the establishment of the Quality Assessment Programme in order to introduce an industry standard of quality assessment across the board which we feel is absolutely vital to our sector. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending ASAP to potential new members as their valuable ongoing efforts will only further echo our message into the mainstream and continue to help enhance the Staycity Aparthotels brand.
What has ASAP ever done for us? Quite a lot really. Leaving aside the obvious benefits of networking, engaging, understanding best practice and feeling part of a wider community, ASAP has provided the very tangible benefits of representing the sector as it pushes for recognition within the hospitality industry and increases understanding from political, investor and customer groups. The accreditation programme, conference, newsletter, education programmes, representation to and on associated bodies and its ability to provide a reasoned and representative voice for the sector on issues like the sharing economy, business rates, planning all highlight that the sector is growing up and that the leadership of an association organisation will be vital to helping push Serviced Apartments into the heart of hospitality.
ASAP assists Marlin in maintaining the highest operating standards across all our six properties with its audit programme. It has also played an essential role in our new partnerships with industry suppliers, opening up opportunities for us to further expand our customer base.

As the industry matures and becomes increasingly mainstream it’s even more important that there is a common voice representing the wide range of products and services within the sector. It’s always been an excellent resource for information and services related to the sector but as an Association we are also evolving and organising ourselves to meet the changing political and regulatory landscape. With the introduction of the accreditation programme, which again we were proud to support from the beginning, we are starting to provide industry stakeholders such as guests, clients and investors clear visibility of the different categories of product that are on offer which is immensely helpful in encouraging more and more people to become serviced apartment customers.
