The government has announced a consultation on new powers for regional Mayors to impose an overnight levy on holiday lets, including hotels, holiday lets, bed and breakfasts, and guesthouses.
Industry body Propertymark points out that such a levy will come into force in Edinburgh from July next year, and England must be careful not to repeat Scotland’s mistakes.
