Phocuswright: the value of travel bookings will reach $1.8 trillion by 2027

According to the Phocuswright Global Travel Market Report 2025, the global travel industry recorded travel bookings worth $1.6 trillion in 2024, which is expected to approach $1.8 trillion by 2027.

Online   bookings   increased   by  9%  in 2024,  and   by  2027,  twothirds   of   all   travel   bookings   will   be   made   online.

This new era of travel, driven by the adoption of digital technology and steady demand for leisure, is characterised by structural changes on many fronts. Established markets maintain their lead, while emerging regions such as the Middle East, Mexico, Brazil and India are expected to show the greatest growth potential by 2027.
